Plaster raised panel mouldings for large windows at Apethorpe Palace
We have secured exciting project to manufacture and fit bespoke plaster raised panel moulds to be used as reveals for tall windows at Orangery at beautiful and historical Apethorpe Palace, based in Northamptonshire. Each of 9 windows is 4 meters high. We have opted to go for GRG (Glass Reinforced Gypsum) mould in which is much stronger and lighter than traditional methods. Cornice (coving) reinstated in Filey, North Yorkshire
The client has bought very beautiful apartment at The Crescent, Filey in North Yorkshire. Filey is beautiful seaside resort, not far from Scarborough. The former owner has divided the drawing room into two bedrooms, however there’s no cornice onto wall partition, so we called , quote accepted, took the template of the profile, returned back to workshop to make the mould and cast lengths, and returned to fit up , just in time before lockdown due COVID-19 outbreak. We have won an contract to make new moulding to match existing in the hallway at very large Victorian home. The ceiling is 3.6 meters high in which cornice itself looks small when looking at the pictures below. Please see progression pictures below.

Ceiling collapsed due to rotting joists caused by water ingress. Joiner replaced the joists and wallplate. Replicated ornate cornice at workshop and fitted up on site and carried out plastering to finish off the job. I think I really liked the pattern of the cornice. Left the site with very happy customer.

I’m being asked to take squeeze mould of client’s neighbour’s original Edwardian corbel , so need to clean it by removing thick layer of paint, brush off distemper and made squeeze mould to be replicated off site. Returned to clients to reinstate the corbels under the beam.
